Mortgage Modification Mediation - The MMM Program

On July 24, 2014, US Bankruptcy Court for Southern District of Florida entered Administrative Order that created MMM Program.  Subsequently, The Mortgage Modification Mediation (MMM) Program is still in active use today, and helps many homeowners behind on their mortgage payments obtain a loan modification with their mortgage lender. The MMM Program is available to individual and married debtors filing under Chapter 13 of the Bankruptcy Code. To sum up, it is intended for borrowers that are behind on their mortgage and frustrated with the inefficient and ineffective process of pursuing a loan modification with the lender directly.

The ultimate goal of MMM is to facilitate efficient transmission of all required documents necessary for modification review. Moreover, it enable direct and effective communications between the attorneys and bank-appointed decision maker through a confidential and efficient court-mandated online bankruptcy portal.  By facilitating all information through the court-mandated portal, the MMM Program eliminates the unnecessary delay and frustration. Which typically occurs during direct loan modification requests in the form of multiple submissions of documents and alleged incomplete documentation.  In addition, the process is supervised by both an independent mediator and the bankruptcy court, as necessary. This also helps facilitate efficient good-faith process, something you don’t get if you are doing loan modification outside of bankruptcy.
